As we care for the community, we need to know how they are living, the struggles they are facing and how to guide and encourage them. We share hope for the future and love.
Education plays a vital role in eradicating poverty. Most parents can’t afford to take their kids to school. A child in school helps them to stay away from bad behaviours and practices, such as drug abuse, alcohol and sexual activities. Education is the key to success. Sending them to school will transform their lives and community at large.
Most families don’t feed on three meals a day. Actually, even one meal is a priviledge! We feed over 100+ kids with a hot meal twice a month. We also buy food baskets for needy families once a month.
We do have mentorship activities that run after every school mid term break where we group the kids and teens in different age groups. They share challenges, struggles they are facing as well as how to handle them and overcome. We do trivia, games and fun activities together.
We also do school visitation with invites. We are able to share our experiences and they get to learn from face to face interaction.
We identify individuals who are vulnerable and have a desire to establish themselves by having small scale businesses. We take them through training on how to operate and sustain them. As well as give them capital to invest.
We do create a supportive community where those who are affected can connect, share experiences and provide emotional, support to one another. We also do a food basket drive once a month to boost their nutrition status. Guidance and counselling services are also offered to them.
